Couple walking between tall golden grasses in evening sun, the oast house roof behind them

Barn weddings · Surrey and Hampshire borderDo not walk on the grass. Dance on it.

One wedding at a time, in a 17th-century barn with fifteen bedrooms and two famous gardens. We'll guide you, but it's your wedding, not ours.

We listen to your hopes and turn them into a plan. Every detail is considered, planned and delivered with care, so all you have to do is enjoy it. The barn and the gardens are yours alone from 10am until midnight, and all fifteen bedrooms are yours for the night. Nobody else's wedding is happening next door, because there isn't one.

There's no set running order at Bury Court. This is one way a day can unfold. Yours is up to you.

  1. Two bridesmaids in pink robes hang the wedding dress in the bright round bridal suite under the oast roof beams

    Morning

Getting ready in the bridal suite

A few steps from the barn, so you arrive in tip-top condition, whatever the weather.

  2. Guests seated either side of a gravel aisle as a couple marry under white blossom arches in the garden

    Afternoon

    Vows in the garden

Marry outdoors, or inside the barn if the sky has other ideas.

  3. Groom carrying the bride piggyback across a sunlit meadow with rolling farmland behind

    Early evening

    Photographs in the long light

The grasses catch the low sun, and the gardens look different every month of the year.

  4. Long tables in the barn dressed with jugs of summer flowers beneath crystal chandeliers and oak trusses

    Evening

    Dinner in the barn

Our own kitchen, The Good Life, cooks everything from fine dining to street food.

  5. Guests and the bride singing and dancing with raised arms on a packed dance floor

    Late

    Dance until midnight

The party runs until midnight, and the nearest bed is a short walk away.

  6. Wooden tables laid under open-sided canopies in the courtyard garden in daylight

    The next morning

    Breakfast, and goodbyes

Breakfast for everyone who stayed, and one last wander round the gardens.

Or do it completely differently. It's your wedding, not ours.
