Who we are

This website is run by Berry Properties Limited, trading as Bury Court (Bury Court Barn, Hole Lane, Bentley, Farnham GU10 5LZ). We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us the “controller” under UK data protection law.

Registered in England and Wales, company number 08746773. Registered office: Bury Court Barn, Hole Lane, Bentley, Farnham GU10 5LZ.

Questions about your data, or about this policy: email team@bury-court.com.

What we collect through our forms

We have three forms: an enquiry form, a viewing request and a brochure request. Depending on the form, we ask for:

  • your first and last name
  • your email address
  • your phone number (optional)
  • what you are planning (a wedding, a corporate event, a celebration, a wake or something else)
  • your preferred date, or just the year
  • roughly how many guests
  • for a viewing, the days and times that suit you
  • anything else you choose to tell us in the message box
  • whether you are happy for us to contact you, and the date and time you sent the form

We also record how you found us, so we know which adverts and websites send people our way: the campaign details in the link you followed (such as utm_source or a Google or Meta click ID), the website that referred you, the first page you landed on and the page the form was on. This is kept in your browser only for your visit (session storage, cleared when you close the tab) and is sent to us only if you submit a form.

Why we use it

  • To answer your enquiry, arrange a viewing or send the brochure. This is the step you asked us to take before any booking. Without your email address we can’t reply.
  • To send you the occasional note from Bury Court, if you asked for the brochure and agreed to hear from us. You can unsubscribe from any email, any time.
  • To understand which adverts and websites work, so we spend less on the ones that don’t. This is in our legitimate interest, and uses only the attribution details above.

We never sell your data, and we don’t use it for anything you wouldn’t expect.

Where it goes

  • Email. Each form is emailed to our team through Resend, an email delivery service. If you asked for the brochure, Resend also sends it to you.
  • Our booking system. Once it is connected, enquiries also go into VenueFlow, the system our team uses to manage enquiries and bookings.
  • Hosting. The website and its forms run on Cloudflare, which processes your request (including your IP address) to deliver the site and keep it secure.

These companies act for us and may only use your data to provide their service. Some of them process data outside the UK (Resend, for example, is based in the US). Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK-US data bridge or the ICO’s international data transfer agreement.

Keeping the forms safe

  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form is being sent by a person, not a bot. It looks at signals from your browser for that check only, and it does not track you across websites.
  • To stop the forms being flooded, we count submissions from each IP address for a couple of minutes, then the count is deleted.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and viewing requests that don’t lead to a booking: up to two years from your last contact, then deleted.
  • If you book with us: for as long as we need it to run your event, and then for six years for our accounts and tax records.
  • Brochure mailing list: until you unsubscribe.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar storage in four categories. Necessary storage is always on. The other three stay off until you turn them on, and nothing is pre-ticked. You can change your choice any time with “Cookie preferences” in the footer.

Google Consent Mode. Google Analytics and Google Ads run in Google’s Consent Mode. Until you accept, they set no cookies and send only basic, cookieless signals (such as a page having been viewed) that are not linked to you. The Meta pixel doesn’t load at all until you accept Marketing.

Maps. The maps on our site load from Google only when you click to show them, or if you have accepted Functional cookies.

Cloudflare Web Analytics. We also count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you, so it runs without a cookie choice.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • ask us to correct it, or to delete it
  • ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it
  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing or changing your cookie choice
  • ask for your data in a format you can take elsewhere

Email team@bury-court.com and we’ll reply within one month. There’s no charge.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve used your data, please tell us first and we’ll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
